Gramicci has been making functional outdoor clothing since 1982. It all began in California in the 1970s, when the innovators Stonemasters revolutionised climbing by focusing on speed and style. Mike Graham, one of them, designed the first climbing shorts, with a diamond-shaped gusset for flexibility and durable fabric. To this was added a nylon belt, inspired by rucksack straps, to secure the shorts. Gramicci was founded in 1982 and the G' trousers quickly gained popularity among climbers, surfers and skaters. The streets of Tokyo also embraced Gramicci, and Japan became its new home, where innovation continued while preserving the brand's original ethos. After 40 years, Gramicci is still dedicated to producing robust, movement-oriented clothing.
